The English short story of the Greedy Mouse


A greedy mouse saw a basket full of corn. He wanted to eat it. Then he made a small hole in the basket. He pushed through the hole. He ate a lot of wheat. He felt full and was very happy.

Now he wants to get out. He tried to get through the small hole. He couldn't. His stomach was full. He tries again. But it was no use.

The mouse starts to cry. A rabbit passes by. He hears the mouse cry and asks, "Why are you crying, my friend?"

The mouse explained, "I made a hole and got into the basket to eat the corn. Now I can't get through the hole. '

The rabbit said, "It's because you ate too much. Wait for your belly to shrink. " The rabbit laughs and leaves.
